Overview

This easy to find woodland has a large grassy picnic area and a short waymarked woodland walk.

It is situated just outside the popular Pembrey Country Park which offers a variety of leisure activities. The country park has access to the long sandy Cefn Sidan beach and it is bordered by Pembrey Forest.

This area was once the site of a Royal Ordnance factory which closed in the 1960s and the walk through Pen-y-Bedd Wood passes by some industrial remains.

Nowadays Penybedd Wood is the home of the Pembrey Conservation Trust who carry out many practical tasks in Pen-y-Bedd and in Pembrey Forest.
