Our portal presents evidence about the ecosystems and natural resources of Wales. This evidence describes the pressures on our environment, the state of our ecosystems and natural resources, and the ecosystem services and benefits that they provide.This evidence has been used by our experts to assess Wales’ sustainable management of natural resources and to identify integrated opportunities for action to improve their management.
SoNaRR 2025: Map
The map presented shows an overview of the extent of Wales’ eight broad ecosystems. The map is based on data created by Living Wales, a project by the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, Aberystwyth University which is funded by Welsh Government.
