Species licensing: People named on a licence

Lead licensee

Usually, the owner or occupier of the property or land or someone who needs licensable activities to be carried out.

Licensed nominated ecologist

The person named on the licence to provide ecological expertise. They are named on the licence and are authorised by the licence holder to carry out work related to the species covered by the licence.

Licensed accredited agent

This is someone authorised by the lead licensee or licensed nominated ecologist to carry out licensable activities under the licence. They must be qualified and experienced. They can work without the ecologist being present.

Licensed authorised person

This is someone authorised by the lead licensee to carry out licensable activities on bird control licences.

Licensed assistants

Licensed assistants are not named on the licence. They can conduct licensable activities under the supervision of anyone named on the licence.
