Fish licensing
Some fish are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended). The sturgeon is a European Protected Species (EPS). Natural Resources Wales (NRW) grants licences so you can work within the law.

Frogs, Toads and Newts licensing
It is illegal to sell a British amphibian. The natterjack toad and great crested newt are also European Protected Species (EPS). Natural Resources Wales (NRW) gives licences for activities that would be illegal, for specific purposes.

Adder, grass snake, slow worm and common lizard licensing

Licensing Decision Statements information
The publishing of decision statements on the internet originated from the Environment Agency's response to the Government's paper Taking Water Responsibly. As an interim measure Natural resources Wales will follow the same procedure.

Rights of Way Improvement Plans and Funding
Paths and routes are being improved across the whole of Wales as local authorities implement their Rights of Way Improvement Plans, with funding and help from the Welsh Government and Natural Resources Wales.

EIA Penalties
If work is carried out without Natural Resources Wales's consent, or if that work breaches the terms of previously granted consent, we may serve an Enforcement Notice to put things right.
