The role
The post holder will provide essential technical support to the Senior Specialist Surveyor (Land Agent) and play a key role in managing estate programmes and projects within the land holdings of Natural Resources Wales, as directed by the Land Agent.
Key responsibilities will include maintaining land and property inventories, managing financial records, overseeing database systems, and utilising GIS mapping tools to support estate management activities. You will also be responsible for delivering and managing a variety of programmes associated with the efficient and effective management of the estate.

What you will do
- Supporting the Land Agent(s) by effective planning and monitoring of the estate management to contribute to corporate programmes and key performance indicators.
- Responding to operational requests for qualification of estate constraints for all forest operations or operations on NRW owned and managed land.
- Establishing both internal and external relationships with key customers and stakeholders and gain an understanding of respective roles delivering outcomes for the business.
- Complementing the programme and estates team and contributing to team targets and performance indicators.
- Acting as a first point of contact for estate and legal enquiries relating to the land ownership of the public estate within your geographic area.
- Updating and managing a corporate data set to include GIS mapping, land and property inventory and estate management.
- Improving ways of working and offering suggestions for change. Learning from experience and constructive feedback.
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills
In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method
- Previous experience in an Estates related role.
- Good planning skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other team members and external land agents and with an understanding delivery aims of the operational teams.
- Ability to monitor progress of work, identify gaps in the delivery of priorities and take remedial action to enhance the service and recommend appropriate reallocation of time and effort.
Welsh language level requirements
- Essential: Essential: Level A1 - Entry level (able to use and understand simple, basic phrases and greetings, no conversational Welsh) with an expectation to develop Welsh language skills to Level B2 – Upper intermediate level (able to discuss work matters) following an agreed training programme.
- Desirable: Level B2 - Upper intermediate level (able to discuss work matters)
