Woodland Creation Planning scheme

The Welsh Government provides grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 for anyone creating a woodland of at least 0.25 hectares (0.61 acres).

You can apply at any time during the year. The funding will allow you to use a registered woodland planner to develop a woodland creation plan.

Natural Resources Wales will check the plans to make sure they meet the UK Forestry Standard and the scheme rules. After your plan is approved, you can apply for the Woodland Creation Grant.

You can apply for the Woodland Creation Grant for five years from the date your plan is approved without needing further checks.
