Pollution incident stopped

Prompt action by officers from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has stopped a pollution incident in North East Wales.

A rising main had burst at Cromwell Avenue, Buckley, with sewage getting into Alltami Brook via local surface water drains.

NRW officers at the scene worked with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water pollution technicians to stop the discharge and took samples from the Brook.

There are no reports of any fish in distress or dying and the rising main has now been repaired.
