As we come to the end of December, we inevitably look back at the year gone by. We’ve achieved a great deal – from completing new flood defences to discovering new wildlife species and from dealing with complex planning and permitting applications to tackling tree diseases.
I would not only like to thank the staff for their hard work and dedication over the past year, but to also show my gratitude to you as partners. Together we’ve achieved so much more than we could have done alone.
In the New Year, we’ll be starting on the next phase of our development as an organisation. We will have added responsibilities with new legislation and we will need to respond to any future financial challenges.
Some of you may also be aware that we’re also about to see some Executive Team departures - Trefor Owen, Executive Director for National Services, will be leaving us in March 2016 to join Forestry Enterprise Scotland as Head of Land Management and Martin Britton, Chief Information Officer, will join the Welsh Government as Interim Chief Information Officer.
I’d like to wish them both well in their new posts. With these departures it is timely for us to review the responsibilities of all the Executive Team.
Whilst the work continues at pace, we'll be (weather permitting!) taking a break over the Christmas period and so I’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
