Job Context

Working as part of the MyNRW Systems Administration Team your key purpose will be to deliver a high quality SQL reports mainly based on the data within the Business World (Agresso) application.

You will be responsible for the development of SQL reports and have a high level of technical expertise within report writing.

The main source of data will be from the Business World ERP application and you will be required to extract the raw data and develop a variety of complex reports within Microsoft office.

For this reason, an understanding of Business World ERP system would be desirable to aid understanding of relations and hierarchy within NRW. You should have experience of Power BI and role access restrictions as the data within the reports will be governed by GDPR regulations and it is essential that you are up to date with the guidelines around data access and able to enforce these within the report development process.  The other skill set that would be desirable would be some background within Finance or a financial qualification as a good percentage of the reports are financial.

The reports developed by yourself will be seen company wide and will be wide reaching and may result in significant impact on operational areas within NRW.  The aim being to result in efficiency savings and a better decision making by managerial posts based on accurate reporting.

You will work closely with Senior Specialist, Business World (MyNRW) role, who will manage your day to day priorities. You will work with Key teams; Business Finance, HR, Payroll and provide advice and support as required.

Other information relevant to the job:

Experience of ERP systems technical administration, support and development which underpins the effective delivery of ERP services within a shared service centre environment.

Trained in Unit 4 Business World On Milestone 7
Experience of implementing change or process improvement would also be advantageous as this maybe required to ensure the data collection is robust to allow accurate reporting.

You will provide high level professional technical/specialist expertise and advice as part of a professional enabling service which is involved in the delivery and improvement of enabling services to develop and support the organisation and its partners in corporate compliance, planning, performance, policy and strategy.

You will provide support to your team through excellent customer service, administration or contract work and be involved in the management of large projects. Along with developing the teams SQL knowledge and reporting skill sets.

You will create a range of business documents which will entail gathering, interpreting and analysing information from a range of sources.

You will provide in-depth technical/specialist knowledge across NRW and upon which others will rely.

You will be involved in the processing and checking of financial information to ensure the reporting outputs are accurate along with other sensitive data held within the system

You will take responsibility for the safe and effective use of NRW equipment and information.

You will have excellent customer service and other soft skills which have been gained through previous experience from a range of different posts and organisations.

You will possess a good knowledge of business systems and processes with the ability to collate information and develop reports based on requirements gathered and various data sources.

You will require excellent communication skills with the ability to sustain and develop networks.

You will demonstrate a good understanding of the work of NRW.

Key Job Accountabilities:

The post holder will:

  • Act as the authoritative point of expert advice and escalation in providing deep and broad expert guidance for SQL development.
  • Consider organisational and security impact plus possibility for reputational harm when designing, approving and updating reports for NRW. This will include consideration to report data ownership and therefore report access levels.
  • Ensure report development is in line with Business World application activities and aligns with broader ICT solution development and delivery.
  • Apply expert level knowledge will be applied to operational and business continuity/NRW reputational emergencies arising from reporting issues.
  • Analyse and interpret a wide range of highly complex, often conflicting information sources and make decisions based on the analysis, liaising with other technical experts, as appropriate, before deciding.

Key Job Qualifications or Knowledge:

Essential

  1. The successful candidate will be employed primarily for their advanced specialist/technical knowledge.
  2. An accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is desirable.
  3. Experience with development & change documents and ensuring all reports are documented and SQL commented to aid others in understanding SQL.
  4. Experience with third party hosted and managed ERP applications.
