Job Context
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that manages and maintains Flood Risk Management Plans that are used to reduce flooding to communities across the Upper Severn and Vyrnwy catchments.
We are looking for suitably qualified individuals to support the production of maintenance and improvement programmes for flood risk management assets. These assets vary from coastal and tidal defences, river side flood walls and embankments to sluices, penstocks and pumping stations.
You will also support the development of nature based solutions to reducing flood risk and enhancing the environment and promoting the sustainable management of our natural resources in Wales.
Ideally from an engineering background your key duties will include surveying and monitoring assets out in the field and compiling and producing asset inspection reports to help plan and deliver an area based capital improvement programme.
You will be working in a team of similar experienced technical staff, delivering a risk based service across Mid Wales and will support NRW’s incident response to flooding
This role is suited to a technical person with a passion for working with the environment in order to make a difference to the lives of people in North Wales.
Other information relevant to the job:
The post holder will be required to undertake a role on the Flood Warning Duty Rota and may be required to work out of hours during flood incidents
Incident Response requirements: Required to take part in incident response activities

The post holder will help manage flood risk by collecting and analysing flood risk asset information to determine current and future asset management needs. Consider the principles of SMNR and Well-being of Future Generations Act are considered in all decision making. |
