Job Context    

This role is part of the People and Places Team in Operations North East. This team aims to promote integrated working within NRW and with partners and communities. It is particularly focussed on both: ensuring our new purpose of the sustainable management of natural resources is embedded in Operations North East, as well as, the ongoing development and review of the North East Area Statement. Area Statement involves considerable engagement with stakeholders and partners. 

In contributing to the work undertaken by the team we are looking for this post to focus on conservation and designated sites and be suitably skilled to provide expertise in this area.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Expertise gained in a defined area or function, enabling the post holder to provide advice and guidance to others.

Role Description

Job Purpose:

The post holder will contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources and wellbeing by contributing to the outward funding programme, integration of planning, monitoring and reviewing delivery of the Area Statement, Wellbeing and Place Plan.  Working with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate delivery. 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Area Statement lead to co-produce and deliver the Area Statement and Public Service Board Wellbeing plans taking the lead for some aspects of the work. 
  • Work with stakeholders and partners to influence and develop priorities, objectives, plans and projects within the place that will deliver the Area Statement and PSB objectives
  • Contribute to the work undertaken by the team: conservation and designated sites, fisheries, water, forestry, recreation & access, providing technical expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of outward funded projects taking responsibility for some aspects of the programme.
  • Participate in the development, monitoring, review and reporting of the integrated place plan taking the lead for some aspects, working co-productively with teams in the place.

Key Job Qualifications or Knowledge:

  1. Good GIS skills  
  2. Experience of gathering, maintaining and quality-assuring data/information
  3. Proven record of producing clear and persuasive engagement material in styles appropriate to the audience  
  4. Experience of functional or business planning  
  5.
